HUH?!

WOAH! What a morning.

A few days ago I alerted my friend to the upcoming MM6 x Opening Ceremony collection. She checked it out and was all like “WTF?”. I knew there would be nothing for guys and that it was likely there would be a few turd garments but……….this is okay? (just the shirt but, it’s just a big shirt, I’m trying to be positive here!) (I dunno if that’s boots or pants down there)

I also thought it would be reasonably priced (because, depending on the construction and material, MM6 is affordable) but I was wrong. So I went to look at the new menswear and that only furthered my disappointment. Thanks heaps Adam Kimmel x Carhartt, just what guys need, more plaid and a red beanie. Looks like regular Carhartt. I hope you didn’t get paid much for that.

It’s slim-pickings in online stores, what with the season ending and all but fuck me sideways wth is this?!

I secretly want it so I can wear it to be ironic or some shit but I do not want to pay for it……or look at. And now I have to go to work all confused.

Don’t worry because it’s almost fashion week.

holy mother of ass.

well, for a change, polyvore is killing me. There’s a stupid button on the right sidebar that says “post to wordpress” but DUH it doesn’t work. Am I surprised or angry? No, just disappointed.todays outfit

I had to put this in manually. Polyvore clearly can’t tell the difference between a “collared shirt” and a tee. I wish I was asked my opinion on everything before any decision was ever made. I would meander around intimidating everybody and saying things like -
“that is muthafucking stupid and if you think that it’s good, you should be sterilised”
and
“take off your helmet, go outside and dig your own grave with it”
conversations would go something like this:
“what the hell is that?”
“it’s chocolate with a soft, mint flavoured, bright green filling”
“send it back”
It’s not like I do everything perfect all the time but at least I have a red-hot go, or if I feel I’ll do a shitty job, I won’t have a go. Unfortunately not everyone lives by this mantra so there’s a lot of half-assed attempts at stupid shit which makes twice as much dysfunctional stupid shit for all of us to put up with.
p.s. I never come from a hateful place. I love a lot of things. including

Some of you may know Carol Christian Poell. If you do then you already know that he is some kind of mysterious leathersmithing fashion prodigy and a god damn creative genius.

I had no idea he existed until earlier this year. The C.c.p. website had nothing on it. It looked like there might be a link to something but there wasn’t. I tried and tried because there must be a way! Peeps don’t make websites with nothing on them. I know our online company newsletter, for whatever reason, sometimes doesn’t link from the homepage to the first page and you need to type into the url “page1″ where it says “home”, so I tried that. I tried: gallery, home, page 1, contact, lookbook, F/W11…..and so on. THEN I just got in. Dunno what happened.

There was a picture of an amazing leather jacket with fingerless gloves and one link to what I guess was a video to represent the current collection but it was just a big black leather horse and a tv and the only information on the site was this:

“No part of this website may be reproduced or republished, posted, transmitted or distributed in any way. Linking, loading or framing any content from this website on another website is forbidden.”

So go find it yourself. It is hard to find stockists but here’s one I know of.

The work looks like this:

and the shows like this.

It’s been a long couple of weeks what with seeing Kim Kardashian’s leg rash (which may just ruin her wedding *oh my*!) and saying “next round’s on me!” to Amy Winehouse and working for the man but it’s all ok because at least polyvore hasn’t pissed me off recently AND I got me a new tee from ZAMBESI.

Go and buy The Hedonist Issue of i-D (which is where the picture above came from) because it’s packed to it’s balls with amazing menswear. I’ll be posting more online stores for menswear soon and I’ll be posting stylish men in no time.

Polyvore effort 742

As much as I love what Polyvore is about IT FUCKING DRIVES ME BATSHIT MENTAL and I email the bastards every day but they never write back. The bastards. It crashes about 15 times consecutively, never saves drafts (which, if it lived in the 21st century, would happen automatically every few minutes) and there is no one in there to bitch at.

Anyway everything here except the badges and belt is available right now at Topman. One of my favourites.

Go there, shipping is cheap and so are most of the clothes. My favourites are the AAA collection.

Take 2

If you know anything about fashion you should know that in 2009 Christian Lacroix couturedeclared insolvency and everybody got sacked but 12 people (like holy crap). Sounds to me like another victim of corporate raid.

But anyway, there’s still menswear…………

………….menswear and great shoes:

If only it were warm

Okay so I started using Polyvore to make incredibly stylish outfits to share but then I cracked the shits because it takes too long to load everything and half the stuff it gives me isn’t even in the online stores anymore. I would have added more accessories to this outfit but it was so frustrating and I have to go to work. Then I went to save it and it took like 8 minutes but whatever Polyvore! I will try to make more of these but don’t expect many if this is how that website behaves all the time!

Anyway. If i were to buy any shoes that weren’t black leather boots I would buy those (from endclothing.com), in fact I might just. I have no idea what that McQueen thing is but I want it anyway. It’s no longer on the site though so thanks for nuthin Polyvore.

Those jeans are Ksubi and for whatever reason they’re only $170 on americanrag.com. The tee is Balenciaga, jersey with mesh sleeves and is half price right now.

all about boys

This blog is designed to say it all: to represent menswear an all levels and make it easier for men in Australia to access the best brands and labels.

Consider it the Kanye West of online shopping for men

because, hey, someone has to say it, right? Or we’d all be drinkin pickle juice right now!

There is a menu in the sidebar full of online stores that are exclusive to men or at least stock a great selection of menswear and ship to Oz for a reasonable price AND it’s organised alphabetically (how cool is that?!). It will grow over time to be the greatest menu ever or God have mercy on all your souls!

Each title in the menu will take you directly to the men’s section of each online store (should they stock men’s and women’s clothing) so it’s easier than lighting a fart.

Another Men’s Store

I myself have shopped at this one and if you live in Melbourne or come to Melbourne, go there. It’s called Burning Black and it’s on Greville St. If you don’t know what Greville St is, sorry for ya, ask Google.

It’s all street wear, there’s heaps of cool shit at better prices than most stores and there’s just the right amount of disregard for how a store should be laid out (what with it being inside an old townhouse). They will sell you Crap Eyewear and Junky Jeans (which get their name from being super skinny).

McQueen S/S12

Gingham and stripes are the only patterns to me.

This collection starts really well, great lines, very London but then it goes cray cray and gets all clown/ring-master/pimp/studio 54 (not always bad) and then it calms down and then there’s this one hat that I don’t even know if Lenny Kravitz could pull off.

^I need this giant tuxedo shirt^

These are my favourite outfits, great shoes. Alexander McQueen have their own online store which (duh) does not ship to Oz. I will find which online stores are stocking the S/S12 collections and share them.
